Sunday 13th May saw a gang of UK Holiday Group ladies get together to take part in the local Race for Life, raising money for Cancer Research UK. The team, consisting of 10 members, took part in the 5 kilometer race and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the day. They’ve been raising money for a number of weeks in the build up to the race and have raised an impressive £750, which is topped up by the company’s ‘Match it’ fund, taking the total to £1,000.
Bryony James, a holiday adviser at the UK Holiday Group said, “The Race for Life is an event that has always struck close to my heart. The atmosphere of the day is amazing, seeing people who are running for loved ones like myself, and the amount of Cancer survivors that take part as well is truly inspiring! It is a personal challenge to complete the Race for Life, no matter your level of ability, and I am very proud of myself for reaching that finish line.”
Call Centre Manager, Helen Smith commented, “It was great fun, very inspirational and a fab thing to do together as a team – we treated ourselves to a cheeky burger and beverage afterwards!”
Nicki Beevis, HR Manager, completed the London Marathon only weeks ago also took part and was only too happy to be running again, commenting, “It was a massive effort for the Race for Life team and raising £1,000 is fantastic!”
